Impact: Critical
Short Long-Pole Stems
Long-pole stems shorten the throw and concentrate the impact into a tight transient — the percussive tap of tile on wood. With stiff housings you get focused snap, not a spread-out clack.

How Mahjong Works
Impact: Critical
Long-pole stems shorten the throw and concentrate the impact into a tight transient — the percussive tap of tile on wood. With stiff housings you get focused snap, not a spread-out clack.
Impact: High
Dense metal plates ring sharply on impact, projecting the percussive character into the room. Aluminum is the sweet spot; brass takes it into tile-on-marble territory.
Impact: High
Thin-wall PBT (1.2–1.3mm) gives mahjong its tile-like body — denser than ABS but with enough flex to project crisply. Cherry-profile thin PBT is the standard.
Impact: High
Builds that achieve true mahjong skip case bottom foam entirely. The internal air gap acts as a small resonance chamber — where the tile character lives.
Find Your Sound
All loudness values measured under ESS-2026 protocol at the typist's ear, average sustained typing at 60 WPM. Variance ±2 dB.
Sound & Typing Experience
Recorded in EPOMAKER Sound Lab with calibrated microphones. The same method we use to tune every product.

Mahjong comes from long-pole linears on an aluminium plate with no case foam, so every bottom-out lands sharp and percussive — no modifications needed.

POM+PTFE stems riding a 20.4mm extra-long spring — a 45gf linear with a clean, decisive bottom-out that rings percussive on aluminum-plate builds.
A dual-spring linear with POM stems in PC housing — 47±5gf actuation into a firm 60gf max bottom-out that lets the case acoustics ring.
